Even though winter has started out mild this year it does not mean you can skip preparing for an emergency. It is important to have a winter emergency preparedness kit in your car(s) all year long, but winter requires a few more items. It is important to be prepared and could make a huge difference if you were to have car problems over a pass. Make sure that you and loved ones are prepared for whatever may come your way. You need to have

• blankets or sleeping bags
• chains for the tires on your car
• a first aid kit
• a battery-powered radio
• maps in case you are without cell service and cannot rely on GPS and Apps
• flashlight
• jumper cables
• sand and or kitty litter to help with traction on ice and to add weight to the back of your car or truck.

We don’t often get snow but ice can be even more dangerous, it is important to be prepared to ensure that your trip is a safe one. #SERVPROTigard #SERVPRO
