Smoke alarms can be annoying, they may go off when you burn a meal or even from just a slice of bread in the toaster. But, they save lives. Smoke alarms should be installed around your home and in every sleeping space. In addition to having smoke alarms correctly installed around your home you also need to replace them regularly.

How often should you replace your lithium-powered smoke alarms according to FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)?

• Every 10 years
• Every year
• Every 5 years
