Banned Book Week- To Kill a Mocking Bird

This week is Banned Book week, a time to honor and fight for books that have been challenged or banned for various reasons, to make sure that they are part of our lives and our development. Judy Blume said it best; “Something will be offensive to someone in every book, so you’ve got to fight it.” So many books on various lists, are beloved classics that shaped us, our expression and our worldview. To Kill a Mockingbird transports us back in time to a small town gripped with fear and hatred, Attics teaches us along with Scout and Jem what real courage is. “I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.” Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, what are some of your favorite banned books? #BannedBooks #BannedBookWeek #BookWorm #SERVPROTigard #SERVPRO #ToKillAMockingbird #ScoutFinch
